Activities DAY 2

♻️ Exploring the Real Meaning of Recycling

The morning sessions were all about understanding recycling beyond the surface. Through interactive “True or False” games and lively group discussions, participants challenged their assumptions about waste, materials, and environmental practices.

They compared how recycling systems work in their home countries, discussed common challenges such as lack of awareness or infrastructure, and brainstormed innovative solutions and local action plans to make recycling more effective and inclusive.

This exchange of ideas allowed everyone to see that, despite differences in national systems, the core challenge remains the same: motivating people to take action and make sustainable habits part of everyday life. 🌱

🎨 Introducing the Concept of Eco Art

In the afternoon, participants were introduced to the inspiring world of Eco Art — where creativity meets environmental responsibility. They explored examples of Eco Art from around the world, learning how artists use recycled materials, installations, and performances to express environmental messages and inspire change.

Through open discussions, participants reflected on how art can be a voice for nature, a tool to raise awareness, and a medium to communicate sustainability in powerful, emotional ways. This discovery sparked inspiration and curiosity for the hands-on art creation sessions coming later in the week. ✨

🏖️ Beach Cleaning for a Greener Tomorrow

To turn awareness into action, the group took part in a beach cleaning activity along the beautiful coastline of Volvi Municipality (Δήμος Βόλβης). Working side by side, they collected waste, sorted recyclables, and witnessed firsthand the environmental impact of improper disposal.

The activity was not only a reminder of why recycling and sustainability matter, but also a shared moment of teamwork, solidarity, and purpose — showing that small local actions can lead to global change. 💪🌊

🌿 Building Connections Through Art and Action

By the end of the day, the participants had strengthened their bonds as a team — blending environmental learning with creativity and community service. The discussions, reflections, and the collective effort on the beach laid the perfect groundwork for the collaborative art sessions that would follow in the next days.
