Activities DAY 6 and 7

🌿🎨 Days 6 & 7 of EcoArt: Art as Activism and the Final Exhibition

The sixth and seventh days of #EcoArt marked the most inspiring phase of the project, where creativity transformed into action and art became a powerful voice for the planet. Under the EU-funded Erasmus+ Youth Mobility Project (Project No: 2024-3-EL02-KA152-YOU-000272187), participants dedicated two days to “Art as Activism” and preparing for the final exhibition, showcasing their journey from learning to creative impact. 🌍💚

🎨 Day 6: Art as Activism

The sixth day began with the “Art as Activism” session, where participants explored how art can drive environmental and social change. Through inspiring presentations and group discussions, they learned about artists and movements that use creativity to raise awareness and spark collective action.

Divided into small groups, participants tackled different environmental themes — from pollution and deforestation to climate change and waste reduction. They brainstormed innovative ways to use art for activism, developing artistic concepts and campaign ideas that reflected both creativity and environmental commitment.

🖌️ Planning for the Final Exhibition

After a coffee break, participants focused on “Planning for the Final Exhibition.” In mixed-country teams, they developed a comprehensive exhibition plan, discussing layout, curation, audience engagement, and promotional strategies.

Each team assigned roles and responsibilities, ensuring that every aspect of the exhibition — from lighting to descriptions — would effectively communicate the environmental messages of their artworks. Collaboration, discussion, and planning turned ideas into actionable steps for a meaningful public showcase.

♻️ Creating Recycled Art

In the afternoon, participants began creating their recycled art pieces. Using skills learned throughout the project, they constructed impactful artworks reflecting environmental issues and sustainability themes.

Teams experimented with materials, techniques, and visual storytelling, bringing creativity and environmental consciousness together. The day concluded with a reflection session, where participants shared what they enjoyed most, discussed learning outcomes, and provided feedback on how EcoArt contributed to their growth. 🌱✨

🎨 Day 7: Final Touches and Exhibition Opening

On the seventh day, the focus was on finalizing artworks and preparing them for public display. In the morning, participants added finishing touches to their recycled creations, ensuring that each piece clearly conveyed its environmental message.

After lunch, they moved to the ΜΑΣ ΑΕΤΟΣ Άνω Σταυρού building to collaboratively set up the final exhibition. Teams carefully arranged artworks, adjusted lighting, and added descriptive labels, transforming the space into a vibrant showcase of creativity, sustainability, and cultural collaboration.

🌿 Exhibition Opening and Presentations

The highlight of the day was the Exhibition Opening, where participants proudly presented their creations to the public. They explained the stories, techniques, and messages behind each artwork, guiding visitors through the exhibition and emphasizing the importance of sustainability and creative activism.

These two days beautifully combined art, activism, and intercultural collaboration, turning creativity into a collective call for environmental awareness and action. 💚

We extend our heartfelt thanks to ΜΑΣ ΑΕΤΟΣ Άνω Σταυρού, the Municipality of Volvi, and Mrs. Ksenia for their invaluable collaboration and support in making the final exhibition a resounding success. 🌟
